Due to the heavy rains this year, there are a lot of semipermanent puddles and a lot of polliwogs in them...

I've seen this pretty white moth (?) before, but this setting is lovely... I say moth because butterflies generally alight with wings together, moths apart...
A recently logged patch gives way to the ridge that heads towards Blanchard...I saw an osprey with probably a small sunfish...
Then as I hiked up the ridge, I saw the same bird perched on a branch and eating the fish...There was also an immature bald eagle in the neighborhood...
