Here's a dragonfly on smokebush that's almost ready to bloom...

Due to the heavy rains this year, there are a lot of semipermanent puddles and a lot of polliwogs in them...

A painted turtle, always alert for danger, but for once I didn't spook it...

The fresh  light green of the new needles is the color reflected by the lake...

There were quite a few mushrooms coming up from the recent rains...

I've seen this pretty white moth (?) before, but this setting is lovely...   I say moth because butterflies generally alight with wings together, moths apart...

A recently logged patch gives way to the ridge that heads towards Blanchard...

I saw an osprey with probably a small sunfish...

Then as I hiked up the ridge, I saw the same bird perched on a branch and eating the fish...
